就像小婴儿的姓名难倒了不少新手爸妈一样，最近，海宁这批三年级爸妈也被自己孩子的英文名愁坏了。前两天，三年级英语课开课，海宁市紫微小学三（6）班的英语老师孙键就给孩子们布置了个回家作业：取英文名。
这事儿说大不大，说小不小，但因为英文名就像孩子的第二个名字一样，不少家长铆足了劲儿，什么Jack、Hellen、Lucas、Lisa、Alice、Bruce通通都有。当然，因为孩子们年纪才十岁左右，不太懂英语，闹出了不少“笑话”。
有一个男孩子给自己取名为“King”（意为：国王），为什么呢？因为自己姓王。
有一个男孩子给自己取名为“Tiger”（意为：老虎），为什么呢？因为自己属老虎，但其实班级里有一半的同学都属老虎。
有一个女孩子给自己取名为“Candy”（意为：糖果），为什么呢？因为自己喜欢吃糖，但其实英文中很少有人会叫Candy。
有孩子叫自己“Leo”（音译：雷欧），为什么呢？因为小学生中很火的《查理九世》大型原创冒险小说作者叫“雷欧幻像”，雷欧一听就很霸气。
有小男孩很喜欢看外国动画片《托马斯&朋友》，给自己取名为“Thomas”（托马斯）；有小女孩很喜欢看动画片《爱探险的朵拉》，就给自己取名为“Dora”（朵拉）。
家长也为孩子的英文名操碎了心。有个孩子中文名叫“以然”，孩子爸爸想给女儿取个“独一无二”的英文名，字典里找不到喜欢的，干脆自己造了个英文单词“Yilla”，老师也表示无可奈何。
还有个小男孩叫骏骏，他姐姐花了一晚上帮他查字典找资料，最后给他取名为“Gallant”，意为像匹小骏马一样英勇的，最后生怕名字不够有档次，还找外国朋友看过。但这个英文名太难了，骏骏自己记不住，班上的小朋友记不住，就连老师也记不住。
“我教的4个班里，男生重名率最高的叫Jackson，女生重名率最高的叫Alice。但有个名字男生女生都不想取，”顿了顿，孙键憋住笑告诉记者，“那就是‘Ben’，因为它在中文中谐音是笨，没有孩子想笨笨的。”
但实际上，Ben在英文名字中还是比较常用的，在希伯来语中是儿子的意思，常被描述为高大，强壮的黑发男子，“只能说孩子的想法你猜不到。”
“我以前教的班里，有个孩子的幸运数字是7，所以给自己取名为Seven，还是蛮特别的，贝克汉姆女儿的中间名也叫Seven。”孙键说，还有个女孩因为出生在8月，所以给自己取名为August，但这个名字对于小女生来说太“阳刚”了。
取英文名到底有什么讲究呢？记者询问了孙键，她告诉记者，主要应该遵循以下三点：
一、取名应尽量简短、好记，便于发音，不拗口。如Bob，Bill，Jim，Kate，Eve，May等单音节词语，方便孩子们记忆朗读，并写在姓名卡片上。“像Gallant这个名字就太过复杂了。”
二、取名应选寓意美好、吉祥的，或是有特征的英文名。如Susan寓为传统的美国女孩，甜美、体贴，有吸引力。Hellen寓意着美丽的上流社会女子，通常是黑发黑眸，优雅且受过高等教育。“有些家长还会给孩子取名人的名字，比如圆桌骑士的首领亚瑟王Arthur，美国歌手迈克尔·杰克逊（Michael Jackson），姓和名都可以用来做名字。”
三、取名应选孩子们喜欢的名字。孙键给了200个英文名备选，让孩子们自己选择自己喜欢的英文名。有孩子提前在课外辅导机构取好了英文名，还要改。
记者随机询问了几个孩子，其中有女生告诉记者，自己小名叫小白，所以给自己取名为Elizabeth（伊丽莎白），但更多的孩子仅仅是因为这个名字好听，所以取了它。当问到觉得班级里谁的英文名最好听时，不少小朋友都骄傲地挺起胸膛，异口同声地说，“我的”。
