今天是圣诞节，祝大家圣诞节快乐~
Merry Christmas!
咦，不过大家有没有曾经想过或者疑惑过，为什么是Merry Christmas, 而不是Happy Christmas 呢？
一.Merry Christmas的来源
要说Merry Christmas，就要说到当年，首次出现这个次，是英国罗马天教教主在信件中写到：Merry Christmas.
因此后来，在英国海军将领之中，“Merry Christmas”就成了习俗，但这时候，在普通百姓中，却还没有这样互相致谢的习惯。正在兴起来的契机，实在1843年，狄大师发表的一部中篇小说《圣诞颂歌》（A Christmas Corol），书本里面，多次出现“Merry Christmas”的字眼。书本出版以来，一直没有绝版，成为了英美两个家家户户摆在书架上的圣诞圣经。
而英国商人也顺着这个势头，推出了“Merry Christmas”的圣诞卡，当时卖的接近断货。而在这之后，Merry Christmas的说法就遍布全球了。
二.那就不能说Happy Christmas咯？
那是不是就不能说Happy Christmas呢？当然不是，Happy Christmas这个说法本身也没有错，而且，英国女王伊丽莎白二世每次在圣诞致辞的时候，都会说：Happy Christmas~
因为Merry之词有微醺之意，对于身为皇室的女王来说，实在有失高雅。
三.相关词汇大普及
1.Christmas spirit 圣诞气氛
主要指圣诞节中喜悦的气氛，记住，这里不用atmosphere，而是用spirit来表示气氛。
I feel the Christmas Spirit!
我能感受到圣诞精神！
2.Christmas Eve 平安夜
Christmas Eve is the evening or entire day before Christmas Day.
平安夜指的是圣诞节前一天晚上或者是全天。
